Time & Location
17 Dec 2022, 11:00 – 13:00
London, Unit P10 Bow Wharf, 221 Grove Rd., London E3 5SN, UK
About the event
Every month we will discover another way to use natural dyes to create colour, pattern and design on fabric and paper. Learn how to make a dye bath, use an indigo vat, create pattern with found objects, and make inks. Each month a different technique will be explored to build your knowledge and a portfolio to share and use. Wether you are studying or just a creative person these monthly meet ups will help to expand your knowledge.
No prior knowledge of natural dyes is needed you will be guided through each process by our dedicated and knowlegeable tutors. All you need to bring with you is a desire to learn, interest in experimentation and some gloves. We will provide all the materials and expertise.
The Basics
The club will start promptly at 11am so please make sure you are on time so you dont miss out. You will need to wear clothes you dont mind getting messy or something to cover up with. Gloves - we recommend a pair of marigolds so you can use them again and again, after all who likes single use plastic? A water bottle is also good but we will have hot drinks and biscuits as you cannot be creative without those.
If you cannot make a session and you let us know with 48 hours notice we can book you onto another session.
