About the event
Looking for creative and fun things to do in London? Love all things eco-friendly? Grab your friends, family or co-workers and come and make stunning prints using bio-waste and flowers. This London printmaking class is delivered from a beautiful purpose-designed natural dye studio in East London. During your class, you will learn how natural dyes work and how to fix them onto cotton, linen, and cellulose-based fibres. Guided by your experienced and friendly tutor, you'll be taken through the preparation of fabrics for natural dyeing as well as getting hands-on and experimenting with bio-waste, leaves, rust, and flowers to create unique patterns. As this is an advanced class, you will be learning about using iron blankets and other objects to modify colours as well as over-dyeing. Although you'll be learning advanced print making techniques, this class is completely suitable for beginners! Finally, you will create a unique design onto either a napkin or tea towel which you'll be able to take home with you. Don't worry if you're new to eco printing, this enjoyable workshop is a great place to learn all about this fun and planet-friendly DIY craft. Not only will you finish up your class with your printed creation to keep, but you'll also head home with all the skills you need to make more! Please note: This class is suitable for vegans and uses only sustainably sourced and waste dyestuff.
